Research Interests

Wardana helped develop a new practical tool, the generalized scaling curve, to predict the EUR of shale oil wells that based on the essential physics of oil recovery and on hydrofractured well geometry. Compared with the reservoir simulation, the generalized scaling curve is more robust for thousands of wells and several orders of magnitude faster. Compared to the popular hyperbolic decline curve analysis, our approach is highly predictive that results in a single unique value of EUR since it is a physics-based model. We apply this method to the top shale oil producers of US such as Eagle Ford, Bakken, and Permian.
