Research Interests

Maxim is fully or partially involved in most of the experimental activities of the group. His main working directions are calcium carbonate bulk and surface chemistry and its effect on calcite wettability; mechanisms of crude oil interaction with mineral surfaces; fundamentals of two-phase capillary flow; and high-resolution imaging of carbonate rocks. The application focus of Maxim's work is incremental oil recovery from carbonates by low salinity water flood.
