Gas is considered the ideal fuel in the transition toward clean, sustainable, and affordable energy access. Many countries are increasingly integrating it in their energy mix to generate power as an alternative to dirty and expensive liquid fuels.
In order to explore gas flaring further, KAPSARC will organize a webinar next Tuesday, November 30 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. (Riyadh time - GMT+3), to go over the best practices and technology enablers that can detect gas flaring volumes and methane emissions and the progress made thus far to eliminate them, as well as proposing fit-for-purpose policies and regulations to optimize gas flaring in the context of the Circular Carbon Economy.
Speakers will discuss the central role that cooperation between governments, the private sector, and research institutions could play to mitigate gas flaring, which releases over 400 million tons of carbon equivalent emissions each year, according to the World Bank.
